Castell de Cubelles is a fortified castle in Cubelles, Spain, documented as a defensive stronghold from 1041 onward. A fortified castle was a defensive residence or stronghold intended to protect its occupants and control the surrounding area.
The castle underwent renovation between 1673 and 1675. It is also known as the House of the Marquises of Alfarràs, referring to the noble holders of the marquis title associated with the castle. Castell de Cubelles stands in the municipality of Cubelles, in the Garraf comarca of Catalonia, a regional administrative and geographical division used in the region.
In 1988, Castell de Cubelles was designated a Cultural Asset of National Interest, a status that recognizes its importance within Spain’s protected cultural heritage.
