Kemenate was the rear residential building of Burg Gaillenreuth in Germany, serving the more comfortable domestic functions of the castle complex rather than its primary defensive needs.
By 1847, Burg Gaillenreuth was described as derelict. The Kemenate was demolished in 1848. Around the same time, August Horneck von Weinheim carried out renovations on the castle buildings that survived.
