History

Saint George Church is a 15th-century Armenian Apostolic church in Movses village, Tavush Province, Armenia. It belongs to the Armenian Apostolic Church, an ancient Christian church, and the Diocese of Gugark, a regional ecclesiastical jurisdiction within it. Associated with the Old Movses settlement, the church is also known as the old church, distinguishing it from the Church of the Holy Mother of God, which was built beside it. Saint George Church follows the Armenian architectural style. It is no longer in operation and is almost entirely ruined, with only its north and east walls surviving.
