History

Regina Turdulorum Roman Theater is a Roman theater in Spain, located within the ancient city of Regina Turdulorum near present-day Casas de Reina in Badajoz Province. Built by the Romans during the second half of the first century AD, it dates to the reign of Nero, who ruled as Roman emperor from AD 54 to 68. The theater could accommodate approximately 1,000 to 1,200 spectators.

The building formed part of Regina Turdulorum’s urban area and served as a venue for public performances. Archaeological excavations have taken place at the theater since 1978, recovering its structure. The remains are in an excellent state of preservation.
