History

Mazin Bin Ghadoubah Mosque is a historic mosque in Samail, Oman, founded by Mazin bin Al-Ghaḍūbah, an Omani companion of Muhammad, and completed around 627 CE. Also known as Masjid Al-Miḍmār, it is described as the oldest mosque in Oman and remains an active mosque affiliated with Islam.

The mosque has been restored and renovated in modern times, with major interventions carried out in 1979 and again in 2017. Its surviving construction uses stone and marble, and the building has one minaret.
