History
The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Dormition of Our Lady in London is an active Greek Orthodox cathedral in the United Kingdom. It was constructed in 1871 as a Methodist church dedicated to the Holy Trinity, the Christian doctrine of God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, to a design by the Reverend J. N. Johnson.
In 1970, the building became the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God. In Eastern Orthodox belief, the Dormition refers to the death and bodily assumption of Mary, the mother of Jesus. The cathedral belongs to the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain, the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople covering Orthodox communities in Great Britain and related areas. Sunday attendance is estimated at approximately 750 worshippers, and the Brotherhood of Saint Barnabas operates at the cathedral. Its liturgical feast is observed on 15/28 August.

The cathedral stands on Trinity Road in Wood Green, within the London Borough of Haringey. Constructed of brick, it retains a church building with one tower, reflecting its origins as the former Methodist church built in 1871.
