History
Palácio da Luz is a palace in Brazil, built at the end of the eighteenth century with Indigenous labor. The Imperial Government acquired the building in 1814.
It later served as the head office of the government of Ceará state. Palácio da Luz is now the headquarters of the Academia Cearense de Letras, a literary academy associated with Ceará. The palace also contains a library of 15,000 books available for research.
